Abstract submission

Regular paper abstract submission has been closed. Late news papers will be announced on July.

Call for Abstracts

We encourage authors to submit abstracts describing new research findings and advances in this field. Please read the following Abstract Submission Guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract:

• Abstracts can only be submitted at the ICSCRM 2013 website (www.icscrm2013.org) using a MyICSCRM account. Submissions by fax, post or email will not be considered.

• Submitted abstracts must be written in English.

• It is the author’s responsibility to submit a finalized abstract. Any errors in spelling, grammar, or scientific fact in the abstract will be reproduced as typed by the author. Abstract titles will be subject to spell-checking if the abstract is accepted for presentation.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

(1) Download the abstract template file

First, download the Abstract Template file (file type: Microsoft Word 2003, file name: AbstractTemplate-2_ICSCRM2013.doc) from the website and use it to prepare your abstract. Detailed instructions on the correct format (margins, font type and size, citations, etc.) for abstracts are given in the template. The total length of the abstract must not exceed 2 pages. If English is not your native language, we recommend that you have your abstract reviewed by a native speaker before submission.

(2) Create a MyICSCRM account

Before submitting an abstract, you will need to create a MyICSCRM account. One or more abstracts can be submitted from the same MyICSCRM account.

(3) Enter or choose the information on your abstract

The following information must be selected or entered before uploading your abstract:

• Topic of your abstract

• Title of your abstract

• All authors’ names and their affiliations

• Keywords (at least one, maximum three)

• Preferred type of presentation (oral or poster)

The topic of the abstract is the general category under which the abstract will be reviewed and later classified into the appropriate technical sessions at the conference, if accepted. The topic which best describes the subject of the abstract should be chosen from the following categories:

• Bulk Growth

• Epitaxy

• Characterization

• Processing

• Devices and Circuits

• Graphene, GaN, and Related Materials

(4) Upload your abstract file

Before uploading your abstract, the abstract must be converted to an Adobe Acrobat pdf file. The maximum file size is 1 MB. After the abstract has been uploaded, modifications can be made until the submission deadline. To revise your abstract, you need to re-upload a new abstract file using your MyICSCRM account. The final deadline to submit abstracts is May 13 20, 2013, 23:59 Japan Standard Time (JST). (The abstract submission deadline is extended.)

(5) Submission confirmation

When an abstract has been submitted, a confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding (submitting) author. In order to receive this important communication, please ensure that emails sent from icscrm2013reg@ech.co.jp are not labeled as spam by your email provider.

(6) Abstract review and selection process

All submitted abstracts will go through a peer-review process carried out by the Technical Program Committee (TPC) of ICSCRM 2013. The TPC makes the final selection of abstracts to be included in the conference program. Abstracts can be selected for oral presentation or for presentation as a poster. A small number of high-scoring posters will be selected for invited presentations in both oral and poster sessions.

(7) Notification of acceptance or rejection to the corresponding author

Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the corresponding (submitting) author on July 16, 2013 JST. Please note that only the corresponding (submitting) author will receive email concerning the abstract and this author is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the abstract. Authors whose abstracts have been accepted will receive instructions for the presentation of their abstracts. In order to receive these important communications, please ensure that emails from icscrm2013reg@ech.co.jp are not labeled as spam by your email provider.

(8) Publication of accepted abstracts

Your abstract, if accepted, will appear in its full form in the Technical Digest of ICSCRM 2013 and in the electronic version of the Technical Digest saved on the Abstract USB memory stick. The Technical Digest and the Abstract USB memory stick will be distributed to all registered participants at the conference.

(9) Late news abstracts

A small number of late news abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation or for presentation as posters at the conference. The percentage of abstracts selected for late news presentation will depend on the number of submissions, but selection will certainly be more rigorous than for regular abstracts. Therefore, if at all possible, abstracts should be submitted by the regular deadline and the late news submission should be reserved for data that is indeed not available before May 13 20, 2013. The same submission rules apply for the late news abstracts as for the regular abstracts, but each presenting author may only submit one late news abstract. The late news abstract submission will be open from July 17 to August 16, 2013, and the notification of acceptance or rejection for late news abstracts will be sent to the corresponding (submitting) authors on August 30, 2013 JST.

For technical questions regarding the abstract submission system, please contact Abstract Submission Support at icscrm2013reg@ech.co.jp.
